About Bastian Quinn

Bastian was born in Florida and has lived in many different cities.  He was mostly raised around the Central Florida area.  After brief stints at USF (Tampa) and UCF, he moved to the Midwest in 2002 at the age of 21.  Thanks to his lifetime Girl Scouts membership and Silver and Gold Award, he gets scholarship money to attend college.  He goes to a small, Catholic, liberal arts university.  He will graduate in 2011 with degrees in Elementary Education and English, as well as an Art minor.  He works on staff at his university’s literary magazine, plays trumpet in his university’s pep band, and is also involved with Students for Social Action, Lambda Iota Tau (LIT Club), and the Teacher’s Club.  He and his ftM partner have Two-Spirit/Queer/TransFamily dinners every Friday night with members from their small community.  He is also a part of the local Two-Spirit Society, the local Jewish Federation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  He has had both prose and poetry published in his university’s lit magazine.
